How to Create a New Event on VoteNaija in 6 Simple Steps

Heads up, you need to log into your account before you can create a new event on VoteNaija.

Step 1: Go to the VoteNaija Dashboard

Start by visiting the VoteNaija homepage and clicking on the Login button. Once you log in, you’ll be redirected to your dashboard automatically.

If you are already logged in, you can go straight to the dashboard without logging in again.

Step 2: Click on Manage Events in the Menu

On your dashboard, look for Manage Events in the side menu. Click on it.

You’ll be taken to a page where you can create and manage all your events. If you’ve created any events before, they will appear here. If it’s your first time, you’ll only see the option to create a new event.

Step 3: Click on the Create Event Button

Click the Create Event button to open the event creation form.

This is where you’ll enter all the necessary details for your new event.

Step 4: Fill the Event Creation Form

You’ll need to provide the following:

• The name of your event
  
• The price for each vote
  
• The start and end dates of the event
  
• A short but clear description of the event
  
• An image that will serve as the event banner
  

It’s a good idea to create your event ahead of time, maybe a few hours or a day before it starts.

When setting your vote price, try to keep it affordable so more people can participate.

Step 5: Save the Event as Draft

After filling out the form, go ahead and save the event as a draft.

Why a draft? Because your event needs contestants before it can go live. Without them, you won’t be able to publish it.

Step 6: Add Contestants

Once the draft is saved, you’ll be asked to add contestants either immediately or later.

If you want to do it right away, go ahead and add them. If not, you can return later by going back to Manage Events in the dashboard menu. Click on the plus icon to add contestants to the event.

Remember, you must add at least two contestants before the event can be published.

Step 7: Publish the Event

Once you have added the required number of contestants, return to the Manage Events page.

Click on the upward arrow (↑) icon beside the event to publish it. And that’s it.
