So you’ve created an event but need to fix a few things before making it public? Good news — as long as your event is still in draft mode, you can make all the necessary changes with ease.
Let’s go through the steps to help you edit your event smoothly.
Step 1: Go to Your Dashboard
First things first, log into your VoteNaija account. Once you’re signed in, you’ll be redirected to your dashboard automatically.
This is where you can manage everything — your events, reports, earnings, and more.
Step 2: Go to Manage Events in the Menu
Look to the left-hand side of your dashboard. That’s where your main menu is.
Click on Manage Events in the list. This will take you to a page that shows all the events you’ve created so far.
From this page, you can do a lot of things like updating events, adding or removing contestants, deleting events, and more.
Step 3: Choose a Drafted Event
Now that you’re on the manage events page, look for the event you want to edit. Make sure it is still in draft mode.
Why is this important? Because only events that are still in draft can be edited. Once you publish an event, you can no longer change some of its details like vote price or date.
So double-check that the event status is still set to draft.
Step 4: Edit the Event
Next to your draft event, you’ll see a pen icon. Click on it.
This will open the event editing page.
Here, you can update the information you entered earlier. You can make changes to the following:
- Event name – You can adjust the title to something more catchy or accurate
- Vote cost – If you want to make the event more accessible, you can reduce the vote price
- Slug – This is the URL for your event page. You can make it simpler or shorter if needed
- Description – Update the event details so people clearly understand what it’s about
- Banner image – If you’ve designed a better banner, you can upload a new one
- Start and end dates – You can shift the event timeline if you’re not ready to go live yet
After making all your edits, don’t forget to save.
Final words
That’s how to edit your event while it’s still in draft mode.
It’s always good to review your event details before publishing. Once you’re done with the changes, you can go ahead and add contestants or take your event live when you’re ready.
Take your time, make sure everything looks great, and then publish with confidence.
