You just realised there’s something you need to fix in your event after it has already gone live.
That can happen, and it’s completely fine.
This quick guide will show you what parts you can still update and how to do it right from your phone.
What Can You Change in an Ongoing Event
Once your event says ongoing, that means it has already been approved and is now live for voting.
But not everything is locked.
Here is what you can change:
- The event description
- The event banner
- The end date of the event
Here is what you cannot change:
- The event name
- The vote cost
- The slug or link
- The start date
Now let’s go through the steps to make your edits.
Step 1: Go to Manage Events
Log into your VoteNaija account on your phone.
Tap the menu button at the top of the screen to open the menu.
Tap Manage Events.
Step 2: Select an Ongoing Event
Scroll through your list of events and pick one with the ongoing status.
That means the event is already live and active.
Step 3: Scroll Sideways to Find the Pen Icon
When the event loads, swipe sideways across the screen to view the icons.
Look for the pen icon and tap it to start editing.
Step 4: Update the Details You Can Change
Now you can make updates to the parts that are still open.
Tap on the description, the banner, or the end date and make your changes.
You won’t be able to touch anything else.
Step 5: Tap Save Changes
After making your edits, scroll down and tap the Save Changes button.
Your updates will now reflect on your live event.
Final Words
Once your event is running and people are already voting, some things have to stay the same to keep things fair.
Changing the event name or vote cost midway could confuse your audience.
That’s why those parts are locked once the event starts.
But with the allowed updates, you can still keep your event looking fresh and up to date from your phone anytime.
